CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - We don’t yet know how many people tuned-in for Tuesday night’s presidential debate but plenty of Chicagoans were watching.
The IBEW Local 134 Union Hall in Bronzeville was full of Harris supporters like Kelwin Harris. He spoke to CBS News Chicago.
“To see such fresh spirit and voice coming from Kamala, from the Democratic Party is exciting to see,” Harris said.
A Trump supporter at a watch party at the Billy Goat Tavern near the United Center gave the former president high marks for comments on immigration and the economy.
State GOP Chair Kathy Salvi said afterwards Americans saw a stark contrast between a strong leader who outlined his vision to secure the border and Kamala Harris who Salvi accuses of lying about her
positions on fracking and law enforcement.
Democratic Governor JB Pritzker said Harris’ character was on full display in the debate as he says she eviscerated Donald Trump, meeting his lies with truth, fear with optimism, and nonsense with real policies.
