CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - If you were lucky enough to be walking along Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago late Sunday afternoon, you received a freebie.
Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas partnered with Pastor John Harrell with the nonprofit Black Men United to give away what they called “random gifts of kindness.” Pappas and Harrell stood at the corner of Michigan and Pearson distributing quite the variety of merchandise. Some of the giveaway items included: air fryers, handheld massagers, diapers, and toys.
All of the items handed out during the Father’s Day giveaway were donated.
