Porchfest came to Lakeview Sunday afternoon, as the North Side neighborhood held a series of outdoor musical performances right in front of people’s homes.
This is the fourth Porchfest for Chicago, a concept that has continued to thrive while social distancing has remained popular.
The Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce sponsored Sunday’s event, which featured 40 musical acts on 15 porches.
Among the performers was a harpist who lives in the neighborhood, Events and Marketing Director Carisa Marconet said.
“She’ll just wheel her harp over to the porch and play there,” Marconet said. “So, it’s really fun to have that element where the performers are meeting their neighbors, too.”
Marconet said half the money from ticket sales went to the performers, while the other half went to the chamber.
Another Porchfest is planned for Aug. 21 in Roscoe Village.
