(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The community festivals and other events are not over yet, even though Labor Day has passed. WBBM Newsradio's Rachel Pierson has this weekend's roundup of activities across the Chicago area.

—You'll be yelling Opa! as you take in the aromas, tastes and traditions of Greece during the Lincoln Park Gyro Fest. The three-day event celebrates the iconic Greek dish with live music, family fun and satisfied appetites. The free event will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church on Sheffield Ave.


—The book lover's dream come true, Printers Row Lit Fest, is back. Billed as the largest free outdoor literary showcase in the Midwest, you'll find more than 100 booksellers downtown plus panel discussions, workshops and author readings.

—Elmwood Park is harnessing residents' love of fine flavors by hosting the first ever Sip N' Stroll. Sample vintages from nearly 60 wineries Friday evening and receive a commemorative wine glass. Attendees will also be treated to music by Yazz Jazz Swings and will have the opportunity to purchase food from Elmcrest Banquets and Massa Italian Café.

—Celebrate the LGBTQ community at the 2nd annual Naper Pride Fest. Saturday's event includes plenty of art, food and entertainment including a performance from Grammy Award winner Jody Watley and singer-songwriter Brian Justin Crum from America's Got Talent.

—Lace up your sneakers for a great cause: Sunday's Brookfield Zoo Run brings participants through the world-renowned exhibits while supporting the Chicago Zoological Society Animal Care and Conservation Fund.

—Savor the flavor of Geneva this weekend during Festival of the Vine. What started as a celebration of anything grown on a vine, the autumn harvest festival now includes 16 local restaurants serving up signature dishes in a Flavor Flare tent.

—Pack up your pooch and spend Saturday afternoon at the inaugural Downers Grove Dog Days. There's an agility course and peanut butter licking contest for pups and plenty of food and music for people. The event benefits West Suburban Humane Society.
