CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Cicero man and a teenager have been charged with attacking two Chicago police officers in Little Village early Saturday morning.

Arturo Rodriguez, 46, of Cicero, faces a felony count of aggravated battery of a peace officer, and a 16-year-old male faces two felony counts of the same offense — plus two misdemeanor counts of resisting or obstructing a peace officer.

Chicago police said two officers were attacked near 25th Street and Homan Avenue just after 1 a.m.

As the cops attempted to arrest one of the suspects, the Chicago Police Department said the other hit an officer with a heavy, wooden stick. One of the officers suffered a major gash to his ear.

The department said they were in good condition after being taken to the hospital.
