CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Emerging female and non-binary filmmakers from Chicago and across the globe will be on the red carpet at Chicago's Music Box Theatre on Wednesday.
Rebecca Martin Fagerholm is the director of the Cinema Femme Short Film Fest and managing editor of Chicago-based Cinema Femme Magazine.
She said after being online, it's great to have the festival in person.
“We are based in Chicago, but we’ve really had an international range because we’ve been an online festival for most of the time. But, this is our first year that we’re local,” Fagerholm said.
She told WBBM Chicago holds its own when it comes to filmmakers.
“There’s a lot of raw talent here and authentic stories, and you see different faces in terms of representation behind the camera and on-screen here…I feel like it’s a really exciting time with all the emerging talent that’s in Chicago,” Fagerholm added.
A total of twenty short films are scheduled to be shown.
Cinema Femme will also be streaming.
