EVANSTON (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -Firefighters spent more than four hours putting out a fire in a commercial building in Evanston Sunday night.
When they arrived at Greenleaf and Wesley at about 8:30 p.m., fire companies saw smoke coming from the roof of the mixed-used building.
The Evanston Fire Department said things quickly got worse, and they upgraded the fire to a three-alarm. That brought 11 departments to help, allowing them to bring the fire under control by 1 a.m.
No one was inside the building that housed a ceramics studio among other businesses, and no one was injured.
