(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Friends, family and a local church community are mourning the death of a Glenview teen who was killed in a car crash late Sunday night.
Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral said Marko Niketic brought joy to their community, as an active participant of their folklore group and a member of an esteemed family.
The church shared news of the 17-year-old's death on Sunday night and offered prayers of comfort and strength for his family and friends.
Those friends and classmates at Glenbrook South High School have brought flowers to the crash site on East Lake Road, where Marko's car and a Mustang were left mangled.
Relatives said one of the passengers, Marko's girlfriend, remains in the ICU. The pair planned to go to prom this weekend.
Police said the other driver and passenger were in the hospital, and they're actively investigating the crash.
