Concealed gun carrier shoots woman attempting to break into his Lincoln Park home: CPD

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police said a man shot a woman who was allegedly breaking into his home on the North Side late Thursday night.

Police said the shooting took place around 10:40 p.m. in the 2200 block of North Clybourn. Officers showed up at the home and found a woman who had been shot in the chest and wrist. She was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in good condition.

Police said the man who shot the woman is a concealed carry gun owner and had shot the woman to keep her from getting into his home.

Police took the gun and continue to investigate.
