CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A longtime contractor claims the Illinois Tollway fired them from a project last week without explanation, so they have filed a lawsuit.

The tollway hired Judlau Contracting last year for $323 million to reconstruct part of the interchange between the Eisenhower and Reagan Memorial Tollway at I-294

The New York based company said it hired subcontractors and workers, moved equipment, bought materials, and was about six weeks into construction when, they said, they were dismissed in a two sentence letter last week.

The company said after repeated efforts to talk with the tollway, Judlau was forced to take this action.

The tollway is not commenting at this time.
