CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A man who spent 27 years in prison after claiming he was framed by a disgraced ex-detective has had his conviction overturned.
Louis Robinson, 55 is the 42nd person to have a conviction vacated in connection with former Chicago Police Detective Reynaldo Guevara.
His attorneys said he was framed for a 1996 murder. Guevara, according to the lawyers, coerced witnesses to change their stories, and manipulated them into making false identifications and fantastical statements used to implicate Robinson.
Robinson always maintained his innocence.
