(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office confirms two more cold-related deaths, bringing the total to 10 this winter season.
The deaths occurred in late October. Both of the deceased were men in their 50s.
On Oct. 27, a 56-year-old man was pronounced dead in the 5500 block of South Damen Avenue in Chicago. He died as a result of chronic ethanol abuse with probable environmental cold exposure as a contributing factor, the M.E.’s office said.
On Oct. 28, a 51-year-old man was pronounced dead in the 1100 block of Elmhurst Road in Elk Grove Village. He died as a result of hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease with probable cold exposure as a contributing factor, the M.E’s office said.
