(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Nearly a month after a man was shot and killed by a Chicago police officer at a South Side apartment building, the city's police oversight agency released body cam video Wednesday, along with 9-1-1 recordings from the incident.
The Civilian Office of Police Accountability released a recording of the call Michael Craig made on Oct. 4, claiming his wife was holding a knife to his neck at their apartment on Carpenter Street near 77th Street.
Police body cam video shows Craig telling the same thing to officers when they arrived, before the officers heard a scream and Craig was shot.
The video also showed the officer who shot Craig telling another officer that Craig had a knife.
In a news release, a COPA spokesman says the investigation into the shooting continues.
