CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago police confiscated several boxes of marijuana valued at $200,000 at a Wicker Park property after delivery of the weed raised questions.
Police officers were tipped off about boxes unloaded into a garage behind a home being rented on Crystal Street near Damen Avenue. It was apparently suspicious enough that tactical officers from the 14th District took a look and discovered a half-dozen boxes containing bags of marijuana.
The district tweeted a picture of the marijuana.
Police presumably know who they're looking for, but no arrests have been announced.
Recreational marijuana is legal in Illinois, but the state regulates its production and sale at licensed retail outlets.
