(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A court has blocked embattled Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard from making appointments to key positions in that south suburb.
Cook County Judge Thaddeus Wilson has voided Mayor Tiffany Henyard's appointments of a village administrator, police chief, and a village attorney in Dalton.
Trustees in the village had filed a complaint against Henyard saying that she didn't have the authority to fill those jobs without their advice and consent.
Judge Wilson says Henyard's lawyer failed to file an answer to that.
The permanent injunction entered this week, says Ronnie Burge, Sr cannot be police chief. It also says Michael Smith, Henyard's choice for village administrator, and village attorney Angela Lockett can't hold those jobs either.
Henyard and the trustees have been at odds since questions were raised about her spending and leadership.
She's also Thornton Township supervisor and under fire there too.
