COVID protocols in place for North Coast, ARC music festivals

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The local music festival scene is coming back to life.

The Chicago area hosts two music festivals this weekend. You'll need a ticket and the right COVID paperwork to get in.

Chicago is the birthplace of House music and people will celebrate the musical legacy of the late Frankie Knuckles at the ARC Music Festival in Union Park.

Thanks to the ongoing COVID pandemic, organizers said a number of european house music producers and DJs are available to perform at the two-day celebration of house music on the Near West Side.

In a normal year, the acts would have a busy tour schedule of their own.

Meanwhile, in the southwest suburbs, the North Coast Festival at Seatgeek Stadium in Bridgeview celebrates all forms of electronic dance music.

Like Lollapalooza, both festivals require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of entry.
