CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The CPD has issued an alert to residents of the Austin neighborhood after two attempted child abductions Thursday.
The incidents occurred on the 300 block of North Parkside Avenue and the 300 block of North Central Avenue about two hours apart, at 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm.
In both, children were walking alone when a white 4-door pick-up with tinted windows pulled up. A man got out of the passenger side and attempted to lure the children, one, a 9-year-old boy, the second, a 13-year-old boy.
In both incidents, the man chased the boys, and they were able to get away.
But the descriptions are different. In the first incident the man is described as white, with brown hair, wearing a white t-shirt and had a scar on his face. In the second, he’s described as black, wearing black clothing. Both described as driving the same truck.
