CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A man is in the hospital after a shooting in Lincoln Square overnight.

Two people were driving near Gunnison and Rockwell in Lincoln Square at about 12:15 a.m. when, Chicago Police said, someone shot at them, sending the car into a parked vehicle.

Police said the 21-year-old man driving was wounded in the back and was taken to the hospital in good condition. He is a recruit for the police department.

His passenger, a 24-year-old man, was not hit and refused treatment.

No one is in custody.
