CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago Police have released video of two men wanted for the murder of an Army veteran more than two years ago in the Little Village neighborhood.
The two are wanted in connection with the murder of 30-year-old Jason Benitez. He had been working in a downtown restaurant. It was after work, at about 1 a.m. on Nov.29 in 2022.
Benitez was walking his dog when he was shot to death near 30th and Homan. He was shot in the face.
One of the suspects may be recognizable to someone in the video released by police. It’s from a convenience store.
He’s heavier, wearing a dark hoodie with a Bass Pro Shop logo and wearing dark-framed glasses. His mouth was covered with a surgical mask.
After Benitez was shot to death, his dog walked back home and was recognized by a neighbor.
There’s a $15,000 reward in the case.
