CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police are again warning about burglaries on the Northwest Side, this time to cars.
This latest alert from Area Five detectives warns about 18 car burglaries on the North and Northwest Sides.
The first set happened overnight or early in the morning on Labor Day in Portage Park and Dunning. Police said a crew targeted work vans to steal power tools and construction equipment.
The same three to five thieves also hit cars and vans last month in Irving Woods and Norwood Park. They wore dark clothing and used a green suv and Jeep Cherokees in silver or dark blue.
This comes a day after another alert warning about break-ins to businesses on the North Side.
