(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A 6-year-old girl was sexually abused near a Far South Side park Friday, and police are now seeking a suspect and warning parents.

Chicago Police say this happened near Ada Park, which is located between West 112th and 113th Place, bordered by South Loomis Street and Racine Avenue.

A man approached a group of children, touched the 6-year-old, attempted to abduct her, and also invited the children to his home, according to police.

He is described as Latino with a light complexion, age mid 20s to mid 30s, up to 5 foot 10 inches tall, and a medium build. He's also described as having a closely shaved head, a beard and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a light colored long sleeved shirt and green pants.

Any information about this incident should be reported by calling 911.

Police are asking parents to talk with their children about reporting any suspicious activity immediately to an adult.
