CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Ahead of upcoming school board meetings, hundreds of school administrators are reiterating their support for Chicago Public Schools CEO Pedro Martinez.
School leaders rereleased a letter from August, urging the Board of Education to keep Martinez in his position.
Now, the letter has a couple hundred more signatures. More than 670 CPS principals and assistant principals are backing Martinez and urging the board to “not make any personnel decisions impacting the senior CPS leadership.”
The letter comes amid speculation that Martinez could be fired at a board meeting within the next two weeks. Martinez and Mayor Johnson have been in the midst of a months-long political battle.
