CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago Public Schools CEO Pedro Martinez announced Thursday afternoon that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and is experiencing mild symptoms.
Martinez is fully vaccinated and boosted. He started to experience cold-like symptoms on Wednesday and tested positive on Thursday, according to a statement from CPS.
Martinez will work from home while following the current CDC guidelines for isolation.
"This is a good opportunity to remind our CPS staff and families to please get vaccinated and boosted," he said. "Because of the vaccine, I expect that I will be fine."
