CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Members of the local school council at Dunbar Vocational Career Academy in Bronzeville and a union leader have complaints about the decision to remove the school's principal and another leader because of misconduct accusations.
CPS officials won't say exactly what the accusations are that led to the suspensions of Dunbar principal Gerald Morrow and the director of school culture, Marva Nichols.
Members of the Dunbar Local School Council said they deserve more information from CPS.
Troy LaRaviere, president of the Chicago Principals and Administrators Association, accuses CPS of launching what he calls several "questionable" investigations against Morrow in an attempt to force him out of Dunbar.
LaRaviere claims it's because of Morrow's efforts to increase enrollment and expand programs at Dunbar without support from CPS.
"I don't know what to call that other than a witch hunt. That was a witch hunt," he said. "They were looking for something they could use to his justify his removal
CPS officials said it was in Dunbar's best interest to suspend Morrow and Nichols as the investigation continues.
