CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) --Cook County Crime Stoppers are hoping that someone comes forward with information regarding a hit-and-run crash that left a 65-year-old woman dead last September in the Jefferson Park neighborhood.

Theresa Jaworecka was crossing the street on the 4900 block of North Milwaukee on a Friday night in September when she was hit by a silver Jeep Cherokee.

George McDade with Cook County Crime Stoppers was at the scene passing out flyers, hoping to jog someone’s memory and help solve the case.

"The driver doesn't stop. She dies from her injuries. This woman was going to retire in a couple more months," he said. "It's a sad case. It was a hard-working woman-at 10:30, 10:45 at night going to a second job."

Jaworecka worked as a house-keeper. Her daughter said she was planning to retire and move back to her native Poland.

McDade said somebody know something and he hopes they’ll call 1-800-535-STOP.
