(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The postponement of controversial rules for public seating in Chicago's City Council chambers did not mean Wednesday's council meeting was without large crowds and challenges.
Dozens of Palestinian supporters were relegated to the first floor of City Hall. They chanted as police officers stood guard by the elevators.
One of those who showed up was Kati from Edgewater. She said she tried to register online to attend the meeting and arrived 80 minutes early, to no avail.
Sandra Ramsey of West Garfield Park was there to oppose allowing arbitration for serious police discipline cases behind closed doors. She noted the presence of so many police officers at City Hall when, she said, some of them could be on the street.
