(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — In Chicago's Lincoln Square neighborhood will be dealing with a month without a portion of their main form of public transit, and it all starts 10 p.m. Friday.

The Western Brown Line station is about to start a nearly $20 million renovation and the first phase has a focus on the platform which will cause about a month of commuting disruptions.

Kimball bound trains won't stop at Western Avenue and commuters will need to travel a stop further to Rockwell and then backtrack.

Additionally, two 14-hour closures will take place where the Brown Line will not operate between  Kimball and Irving Park. Those closures will take place on starting at 10 p.m. on Aug. 30 and starting at 10 p.m. on Sept. 9. Both will run until noon the following day, according to Ald. Matt Martin’s (47th) office.

The partial closure lasts until Sept. 20.

The focus will shift to the station next year.
