CTA employee shot while outside North Side Red Line station, transit agency says

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - There's been another shooting on the CTA. An employee of the agency was shot Tuesday night outside a station in Rogers Park.

Chicago police said a man was outside the Howard Station at about 9:15 p.m. when someone in a white SUV fired multiple shots and drove off.

The 51-year-old man was hit in the chest and taken to the hospital initially in serious condition.

President Dorval Carter said the CTA is “saddened and in disbelief” that it must once again address the topic of gun violence and public transit.

He said they’re making support services available to employees and are reviewing security video.
