(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — If you're making New Year's Eve plans in Chicago, but don't want to drive – no worries – the city's transit agency has you covered.

The Chicago Transit Authority is once again offering free rides on New Year’s Eve on its trains and buses from 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31 until 4 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1.

If you need a ride outside of that window, the CTA offers a one-day unlimited ride pass for $5.

The agency also wants to remind riders, it will be operating on a holiday schedule on New Year's Day.

Fireworks will be launched from six downtown bridges and accompanied by a custom Art on The Mart projection. The art projections will start at 10 p.m.

An extended fireworks display will also take place at the Navy Pier. The 15-minute show will be synchronized to music.
