CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) --Tuesday is the last day to put in the bid to fill a vacancy for an Alderman in the 24th Ward on the West Side for anyone who is interested.
The aldermanic vacancy opened last week when Alderman Michael Scott stepped down to take a job in the private sector and spend more time with family. Mayor Lightfoot gets to fill the 24th Ward vacancy and that person would serve until next year’s city elections.
The deadline is tonight to apply to be considered. All names and resumes of those who apply will be made public and a selection committee will review the candidates and forward to the mayor those deemed qualified.
