CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — One person was killed after a multi-vehicle crash on the Kennedy Expressway early Sunday morning, according to Illinois State Police.
Officials said the crash happened shortly before 4 a.m. when two vehicles crashed in the local southbound lanes of Interstate 90 near North Pulaski Road.
One of the occupants got out of their car and was fatally struck by a third vehicle, state police said.
Police shut down all southbound local and express lanes of I-90 at Keeler Avenue as they investigated the crash.
Express lanes reopened at about 7:45 a.m., and the local lanes reopened about 40 minutes later.
No other details about the crash or the other occupants were released.
