CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - CPD detectives are investigating the deaths of a man and a child discovered in an apartment in the Logan Square neighborhood Tuesday night.
Police made the discovery during a well-being check. The bodies of a 40-year-old man and a 6-year-old child were found in a bedroom in an apartment on the 3500 block of West Lyndale at about 10:15 p.m. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has identified them as Josean Cano and Samuel Cano.
A statement from police said “the bodies were there for [an] unknown amount of time” and were found “in an advanced state of decomposition.”
At this point, police are classifying this case as “a death investigation” being conducted by Area Five detectives.
