WESTMONT (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police in Westmont said a male deer appeared to be ok, after it broke through the windows of two buildings Wednesday morning and ran through them before running off.
Sergeant Jeff Borgardt said the deer first broke through a window at an office building.
“We received a burglar alarm at (the) business and office building at 800 block of North Cass Avenue. When we arrived, we found the glass break and a deer running through the building. The deer ended up exiting through the front door of the building, proceeded to, about three-quarters of a mile away,” Borgardt said.
Borgardt said that's where the deer broke through the window of a nursing home and rehabilitation center in the 500 block of East Ogden Avenue and ran through that building, before breaking through another window and running off to a golf course.
Borgardt said the deer brushed a couple of people at the nursing center, including a staff member whose arm was hurt.
Borgardt said the deer had some cuts but was not seriously injured.
He said the deer probably saw its reflection in windows at the two buildings and broke through them thinking it was attacking another deer.
