(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A 25-year-old Dolton man faces several felony theft charges after he allegedly stole possessions from victims he met through a dating app, authorities say.
Police from Lansing, Oak Forest and the Forest Preserves of Cook County set up a surveillance operation Monday to take suspect Davon T. Fullilove into custody. Fullilove allegedly met victims on a dating app to “to take advantage of the situation to steal items,” Lansing police said in a news release.
Fullilove was seen in the area area of Thornton-Lansing Road and Stoney Island Avenue and fled on foot when investigators tried to stop him, police said. He was taken into custody after running into a field, where he tried to hide.
Police say Fullilove, who was charged with several felony charges of theft, has multiple outstanding warrants from Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. He was slated to make a court appearance in Markham.
“The Lansing Police Department would like to remind everyone to be very cautious when meeting individuals through dating websites,” officials said in the news release.
