CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police are warning Near North Side businesses and residents following a recent string of late night restaurant burglaries.
Detectives say at least a dozen restaurants have been broken into in Chicago Police’s 18th District, with some happening specifically in the River North neighborhood.
In each burglary, the suspects forced their way into the business by prying open patio doors. After gaining entry, police say, the suspects have stolen cash registers and cash.
The spree has been committed by a group consisting of one to three men described to be in their 30s and a woman between 20 to 30-years-old.
Police are asking anyone with information, including available video surveillance, to contact Area 3 detectives at 312-744-8263.
