
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago police are looking for the driver of a car who attempted a smash and grab in the Gold Coast early Saturday.
The incident occurred at 3:44 a.m. on the 900 block of North Rush Street.
A male suspect exited a white Jeep after driving it into the front doors of a Dior store, according to police. The suspect did not gain entry and fled in the Jeep.
Police believe that he was attempting to rob the store, but drove away when he couldn't inside. They also said that no merchandise was taken and the suspect is not in custody.
Area Three detectives are investigating.
