CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — An autopsy scheduled for Sunday may help Chicago police figure out what led to a fatal car crash Saturday night in the Clearing neighborhood.
Police said a male driver was speeding in a 2012 red Cadillac sedan when he went up an embankment and hit a parked train that was being used for maintenance work.
It happened just before 5:30 p.m. near 59th Street and Natoma Avenue, where the street dead ends into freight train lines.
The man died at the scene, police said. No one else was injured. The man's identity has not yet been released.
CPD's The Major Accidents Unit is investigating.
