A driver died after being hit with a “large object” that went through their windshield causing a crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway on the South Side.
State troopers responded to the outbound express lanes of the Dan Ryan at 29th Street for a single vehicle crash around 5:10 a.m., Illinois state police said.
State police did not say what kind of object was involved.
The motorist was taken to an area hospital where they were pronounced dead, state police said.
No lane closures were reported, authorities said.
