Far North Side driver fatally shot: CPD

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police are investigating a fatal crash that happened in West Ridge Tuesday night.

Police said, just before 11 p.m., a 23-year-old man was driving in his car near Francisco and Granville when someone on the street approached him with a handgun and started shooting at him.

The man attempted to drive away from the scene and crashed at a different location.

He had a gunshot wound on his left upper chest area and was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
