HAZEL CREST (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A semi-truck driver was killed early Tuesday morning after losing control and rolling off of I-80.
According to Illinois State Police, the accident occurred shortly after 4:30 a.m., in the eastbound lanes of I-80. A truck-tractor semi-trailer veered off the road, fell down an embankment and then overturned onto Kedzie Avenue.
The driver was dead at the scene, police said. No one else was hurt.
As part of their investigation, police have shut down Kedzie Avenue in both directions, under I-80.
