MINOOKA (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Illinois State Police have provided an update regarding a fatal crash that shut down I-80 early this morning in Grundy County.
It was a head-on, wrong-way crash on westbound I-80 at Minooka Road.
State Police said the driver of a car was going east in the westbound lanes and slammed into a semi-tractor trailer.
It happened at about 12:40 am.
The driver of the car was dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was hospitalized with injuries.
It's unclear if drugs or alcohol were a factor.
