(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — DuPage County Animal Services has several roosters, and they want to find them homes.

The roosters have been housed in dog kennels at DCAS since early this month, but with more dogs on the way, Monday has been set as a deadline to adopt all of the roosters. DCAS will be making a big adoption push all weekend.

If they aren’t adopted, officials said they’ll have to make the decision to humanely euthanized the roosters.

For those who don't want to adopt a rooster, DCAS officials said dog or cat adoptions may help free up much-needed kennel space, which could allow them to house the roosters for longer.

The roosters were put into the agency’s custody following an animal wellness check in Lemont.
