CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Road work will resume this week along DuSable Lake Shore Drive on Chicago’s North Side, and a sizable stretch of the highway will be reduced to one lane on a near-nightly basis.
Weather permitting, resurfacing work will begin at 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with southbound DuSable Lake Shore Drive reduced to one lane between Irving Park Road and LaSalle Drive.
Between Hollywood and Lawrence Avenues, both directions of the highway will be reduced to three lanes.
Officials with the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) said all ramps will remain open, and all lanes will reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning.
CDOT encouraged drivers to plan ahead and allow for more time when traveling.
The resurfacing project is expected to wrap up by the end of the month.
