DUPAGE COUNTY, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Eight people are behind bars after several DuPage County stores were burglarized last week in three separate unrelated incidents last week that include four Chicago relatives and two residents of St. Louis.
The four relatives are accused of stealing an estimated $1,300 worth of goods from a Westmont Mariano's last Thursday afternoon. About half an hour later, the St. Louis suspects were caught with close to $2,000 of stolen merchandise from a Dick's Sporting Goods in Lombard.
Last Friday, two Chicago women were arrested shortly after an Oak Brook Old Navy had hundreds of dollars of clothes stolen. DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a statement that anyone stealing from area stores will be held accountable.
