CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A long-standing Evanston deli is temporarily closed as one of the brothers who runs it is in the hospital.
Fans of the coq au vin, ham and cheese sandwich and frosted butter cookies at Al's Deli will have to wait until the long-standing shop reopens.
Owner John Pottinger wrote on Instagram his brother Bob is in the hospital after a fall on Thursday due to a blocked artery. He's improving but still needs surgery.
The deli that the siblings took over from their father three decades ago and transformed into a French spot is asking for donations through GoFundMe to help pay their bills.
