(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Investigators now say some sort of incendiary device was thrown into an Evanston house before an explosion there late Tuesday.

Police say the explosive device was thrown a first floor window of the house on Brown near Greenwood.

When police and firefighters responded to the blast, they say windows had been blown out.

Police said no one was hurt in the explosion.

The Illinois Fire Marshal joined Evanston investigators to determine the exact nature of the explosive device and look for possible suspects.
