(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A federal lawsuit has been filed in the Feb. 3 death of a man killed by police inside his Carol Stream apartment.

Family members of Isaac Goodlow III gathered Wednesday outside the Villagebrook Apartments complex where he was shot to discuss their suit.

“It was so clear on that night that there were no emergency circumstances or cause or reason to rush into Isaac’s apartment,” attorney Stephen Hart, who is representing Goodlow’s sisters, said.
“They did it behind a ballistic shield, guns out, fingers on triggers, without any information that there was any hostile environment or threat.”

The wrongful-death lawsuit names the Village of Carol Stream, as well as the officers who responded to the domestic violence call, as defendants.

Henry Pigram says bodycam footage proves his nephew was alone and in bed when he was shot and killed.

“From what I’ve seen, he got ambushed,” Pigram said.

An independent investigation continues. The video is expected to be released to the public in the coming days.
