Far South Side woman fatally shoots man threatening her with knife: CPD

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A Far South Side woman shot and killed a man who was threatening her with a knife.

It happened at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, inside a home at 115th and Vincennes, police said. A verbal argument between a 41-year-old woman and  41-year-old man escalated when the man came after the woman with a knife. It was then that the woman took out a gun and began firing at him.

The man suffered 4 gunshots to the torso. He was sent to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, but subsequently died.

Officers did recover a gun at the scene. Area Two detectives are investigating.
