CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The FBI is investigating a bank robbery late Tuesday morning on the Near West Side.

Three armed men walked into a Chase Bank branch at Roosevelt and Ashland at about 11:30 a.m. At least one was wearing a security guard uniform.

It was reported that they pushed into a vault as it was being opened by an employee and held customers and employees on the floor while taking cash.

A conversation heard on police radio, obtained by CBS 2, suggested they got away with about a hundred thousand dollars.

An officer was also heard saying a female bank security guard was punching in the security code for a back room when the robbers “bum-rushed her” and got to the vault.
