(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The federal government is making another round of free COVID-19 tests available.
This is the third round of free test kits and this time the government is doubling the number per household.
During the first two rounds four were shipped. This time it’s eight.
These are rapid antigen covid tests and they’ll arrive in two packages. There’s no charge for the test kits or the shipping.
COVIDTests.gov is the website. It takes less than a minute to place an order.
The government, up to now, has shipped fewer than half of the one billion free test kits that have been promised.
The number was around 400,000,000 as of March. It’s unclear what this is costing.
